The VEQ Holds Annual General Meeting

More than seventy-five people attended the 30th Annual General Meeting of the Voice of English-speaking Quebec last week. Held in the Coin soleil room of the Jeffery Hale Hospital on May 26, the event featured guest speakers Quebec City Deputy Mayor, Michelle Morin-Doyle, and Charles Taker of the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages.

A good time was had by some 100 people at VEQ's Holiday Happy Hour held last Thursday in beautifully decorated College Hall of the Morrin Centre.

There was a generous and delicious spread of food, provided by VEQ, plus desserts and coffee provided by Loew's Concord Hotel. Alcoholic beverages were available at very reasonable prices at the cash bar.

We hosted over 120 people at the Les Voûtes du Cavour, Thursday, December 4. Of those who attended over 40 were newcomers to the Quebec City area. We were very pleased to see such a great community turn out. Congratulations to those who won the door prizes and we hope to see everyone at the next VEQ happy hour in February 2009.' - Jean-Sébastien Gignac, Executive Director, VEQ.
