QC’s Jewish community reflects on centuries of history

Quebec City’s longstanding Jewish community came together on Sunday to remember their past. Shalom Quebec, a local organization, put together an exhibition that included music, presentations, and a screening of a documentary.

Kingsland carves genealogy tree for Côte de Beaupré

Locally renowned wood-sculptor Scott Kingsland, along with his wife, Françoise Lavoie, unveiled their latest project last month for the Centre de Généalogie, des Archives et des biens culturels on the Côte de Beaupré. The work, entitled L’arbre de nos ancêtres, is an enormous carved genealogy tree for the region’s familles de souches.

Fraser teaches reservists lifelong learning skills

Eric Fraser’s 35th Engineers reserves regiment takes seriously the reservist lifestyle of fitness, work, and school. In an effort to make the school part a bit easier, Fraser’s Ste. Foy-based reserves unit is about to become the first in Canada to incorporate practical study tips and healthy study habits into its training regiment this fall.
