SongCircle Series

An afternoon of live music

The Morrin Centre, in collaboration with Open Sky Music and Randall Spear, are happy to invite you to the opening series of a Songwriters Circle: a friendly gathering of songwriters showcasing their talents. The Songwriters Series will showcase an  eclectic group of songwriters from all over the country, and promises to inspire and give the opportunity to people to meet and hear professional songwriters in an intimate setting.

A SongCircle is as simple as it sounds, songwriters get together and present their songs one after the other with an acoustic guitar, and a few words.  The audience gets to hear the songs on a much more intimate level and will usually get to hear the inside story of the song.

SongCircles are popular in the States and the rest of Canada. Randall  hopes to bring that tradition here in Quebec City at one of the most beautiful cultural centres of the country: The Morrin Centre situated in the heart of Old Quebec.  The first special guest will be Anique Granger from Saskatchewan, and local guests will be Lily Thibodeau, Sylvia Beadry, Remi Lortie and Jack Lavoie.

In the tradition of the SongCircle, there is always room for a new songwriter. Randall Spear , being a teacher at Cegep Ste-Foy, has invited some of his students to share their songs for the first time.  Tickets $10 presale $15 at the door. Next SongCircle is scheduled on Sunday,  November 21 with special guest Luke Doucet.
