The Canadian ice hockey team won the country’s last silver medal at the Paralympic Winter Games in Milan Cortina. Canada lost 6-2 to the United States in the gold-medal game, in front of a record crowd of 11,500 fans. It was Canada’s 15th and final medal in Italy. The Canadians won three gold, four silver and eight bronze medals, finishing sixth at the 2026 Winter Paralympics. China led the medal standings with 44 medals, including a Games-leading 15 golds. Nathalie Wilkie of Salmon Arm, B.C., is all smiles after receiving Canada’s first gold medal at the 2026 Paralympic Games in Milan Cortina. Wilkie won the 12.5-km women’s standing para biathlon on March 8, after winning silver in the para biathlon sprint the day before. As of March 9, Canadian athletes have a total of seven medals – one gold, three silver and three bronze. The Paralympic Games began on March 6 and will come to a close on March 15.
