NOTICE TO READERS: How to access the QCT online

Did you know that if you are currently a subscriber to the print edition of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph, you also have online access to all articles and the digital version of the weekly edition on our website at qctonline.com?

If you don’t know your username and password, just go to qctonline.com/subscriptions and select annual online access. Fill in your name, mailing address and email address. When it asks for a credit card, select “Already a subscriber.” Another option will then open asking you for your customer number. This is the number just above your name on the mailing label of your weekly newspaper.

Once you fill in that information and submit it, you will receive a confirmation email with your username and password.

To read online articles in their entirety, go to qctonline.com and enter your username and password in the spaces below user login on the right side of the home page.

The digital PDF of the paper – available under the “QCT Online Print Edition” tab on the website – is posted to the site early Monday evening, and individual articles are posted to the website by 3 p.m. on Tuesday – much earlier than the print edition, which is mailed out to subscribers on Wednesday and may take a few days to arrive.

If you have difficulty following these directions, please call our office at 418-650-1764 for assistance.

Members of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ), the province’s largest nurses’ union, protested in front of the Musée national des Beaux-Arts du Québec earlier this month before marching to the National Assembly. On March 23, the federation announced that it had reached an agreement-in-principle with the government after 15 months of negotiations and several days of non-continuous strikes. According to the FIQ, the tentative agreement includes a salary increase of 17.4 per cent, bonuses for “critical periods” during the summer and winter holidays and stricter rules around forced overtime, which “should only be used in emergencies.” The federation’s 80,000 members will vote on the agreement from April 10-12. “Our members will decide whether we accept [the agreement] or not,” FIQ president Julie Bouchard said in a statement.
