NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT: CQSB welcomes new director general

NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT: CQSB welcomes new director general

Submitted by Stephen Burke, chairperson, Central Québec School Board council of commissioners

I am very pleased to announce, on behalf of the Central Québec School Board’s (CQSB) Council of Commissioners, the appointment of Mr. Stéphane Lagacé to the position of Director General, effective September 1st, 2024.

Accomplished administrator who has been with the CQSB for 23 years, Mr. Lagacé will succeed Mr. Stephen Pigeon, our current Director General, who will begin a well-deserved retirement in September 2024.

Committed and enthusiastic collaborator possessing in-depth knowledge and understanding of our school board, Mr. Lagacé began his career as a high school teacher. Successively appointed Vice-principal and Principal, he joined the senior management team in 2019 as Director of Educational Services.

As part of an effective transition plan, he will gradually familiarize himself with his new responsibilities, which include leading the realization of our Commitment-to-Success Plan with our Assistant Director General, Ms. Nancy L’Heureux.

I am convinced that with his unifying leadership and sound educational vision, Mr. Lagacé will ensure that our school board continues to shine and successfully fulfill its fundamental mission of empowering all our students to receive the best possible education.

Congratulations Mr. Lagacé!
