OBITUARY: Mar-Mae TEAKLE AGNES (1926-2026)

OBITUARY

Mar-Mae TEAKLE AGNES

1926-2026

Mar-Mae (Margaret-Mae) Teakle Agnes passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in Montreal. It was her 100th year. Born Sept. 12, 1926, to Lennox St. John Teakle and Margaret Wilson Teakle in Quebec City, Mar-Mae leaves behind her treasured daughters, Suzanne (Greg) and Jane. She joins her late husband, John Gibault Agnes (Johndad), who has been patiently waiting for the love of his life. Mar-Mae was the most special Gran to Scott (Carrie), Peter (Samantha), Timothy (Nicolas) and Hillary (Alexander). She was also very proud of her great-grandsons, Sasha and Theo – her third is due in May.

She lived a remarkable life; she left a lasting impression everywhere she went and is loved by so many more than she knows. Her lipstick, sense of humour and elegance will be greatly missed. We could not have asked for a better mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, friend or set of eyes now watch- ing over us.

The family will celebrate her life in private, per her wishes. In her final act of generosity, she has donated her body to science at the McGill University Health Centre – we couldn’t be more proud of her. In lieu of flowers, please show your generosity to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland, Que., which gave the most wonderful gift with its care.
