For $1.07 million, the intersection of rues Saint-Nicolas, des Vaisseaux-du-Roi and de la Côte de la Potasse was transformed into a public square with the sculpture Confluence by Danielle April, plants, seating and a bike lane. The area is dedicated to Quebec City and its sister city of Namur, Belgium. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Namur and Quebec City, the new Place de Namur was inaugurated on Oct. 8 in the presence of Namur Mayor Charlotte Bazelaire and Quebec City Mayor Bruno Marchand.
