Chicoutimi Saguenéens captain and Quebec City native Emmanuel Vermette receives the Gilles-Courteau Trophy from Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) commissioner Mario Cecchini on May 17. For the first time since 1994, the Saguenéens are league champions,defeating the Moncton Wildcats in six games and earning a spot in the upcoming Memorial Cup tournament in Kelowna, B.C. The Sags will play the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League, the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League and the host Kelowna Rockets.
