Dollard des Ormeaux Students Celebrate Music Monday!

Students at D.D.O. School joined thousands of other Canadian students in a mass concert to celebrate the importance of Music Education in their lives.

This event is coordinated by the Coalition for Music Education in Canada, and is supported by many famous Canadians like Marc Garneau.

This year, goal was to "Fill the Skies With Music," with the idea that if one were to open the front door of his or her home and stand on the street on the first Monday of may, one would hear music and the skies would be filled with melody.

The goal of Music Monday is to demonstrate how the galvanizing power of music can be rooted in school music programs. Kindergarten to Grade 6 students sang "O Canada" and the theme song "Sing Sing" with the Cycle 3 Choir presenting "Sing To the Heavens Above," presenting evidence of how music brings people together and the fun people can have singing en masse.
