Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Addison Barger made history in game one of the 2025 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. On Oct. 24, Barger came off the bench to pinch hit for teammate Davis Schneider with the bases loaded. He then hit Dodgers reliever Anthony Banda’s fourth pitch over the right centre field wall for the first-ever grand slam by a pinch hitter in a World Series game. As of Oct. 27, Toronto and Los Angeles have one win each in the best-of-seven championship series.
