Kofi Keith Irakoze passed peacefully away in the arms of his mother on June 18, 2026, in the CHUL, Quebec City. He was born on June 11 in the same hospital and fought bravely for the next seven days. He was born too soon and left this world too soon. During his short time here on earth, he touched many lives and was loved deeply by family, friends, and even people who would never meet him. His life was a brief gift to his parents, Kandace and Eric, and to his big sister Aurora. Kofi experienced holding hands with his mother and father, and was able to meet his big sister, his grandmother and his great-grandmother before he returned to his heavenly Father. His father sang to him and his mother talked to him every day. Kofi was greeted in heaven by his great-grandfather, Keith Burgess. He will be remembered with love by his parents, sister, grandparents, great-grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. We would like to thank the staff of the NICU for their love, compassion, support and care for Kofi as well as his parents. We would also like to thank Lepine-Cloutier for their help. A service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the CHUL.

Murray died peacefully on June 25, 2026, in his 97th year. Left to mourn are his wife, Monica Marston MacKay, his brother, Douglas MacKay (the late Minnie) and nephews and nieces in British Columbia and Ontario. Murray was predeceased by his brother Harold MacKay and his sister-in-law Joyce.

Murray’s brother-in-law, Philip Marston, and his sister-in-law, Gail Marston, were a wonderful support as Murray’s health declined. Andrea, Jesse, Akira and Iris always brought joy with their visits. Thanks to Melanie and Paul for their continuing support.

Murray was a graduate of Queen’s University, served in the navy for ten years, and then taught math at Quebec High School until his retirement in 1992. His interests in classical music, cooking, reading and film continued to the end of his life.

A special thank you to all the caregivers at Helen Henderson Care Centre and particularly to Elvie for her compassion and support. Murray’s final days were made easier surrounded by caring people.

Cremation has already taken place. Other arrangements will be private.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Michael McCormack at the age of 90. He was predeceased by his parents John Lawrence and Edith (née Désilets) and his sister Andrée (Tom).

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 65 years, Raymonde (née Lafrenière) and his four children Anne (Jean François), Louise (François), Kevin (Kelly) and Steve (Dubravka); his nine grandchildren Alexandra (Ken), Julie (Alexander), Philippe (Sabrina), Pierre (Gabrielle), Olivier (Kendyl), Sarah (Nicholas), Matthew (Avery), Zoe (Zach) and Ryan (Rahma); as well as six precious great-grandchildren, Théo, Élodie Rae, Charlotte, William, Amélia and William Michael; his sisters Helene, Patricia and Kathleen (Ron); his brother-in- law Raymond (Barbara) and sister-in-law Colette as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by brothers/sisters-in-law George, Jeannine (Maurice), Jean-Paul (Rose), Liette (Paul), Maurice, Denise (Réal) and Claude.

Michael grew up on Celanese Square in Drummondville before heading off to St. Pat’s high school in Ottawa. After obtaining his chemical engineering degree at McGill, Michael began working at Anglo-Canadian Pulp and Paper Mills (later Reed and Daishowa) in Quebec City. Following 30 years at the mill Michael spent his retirement years wearing many different hats within the English-speaking community of Quebec City.

We wish to thank the third-floor staff at Calla for their care, understanding and patience; the staff at Appartements de Bordeaux; and the Jeffrey Hale CLSC.

A funeral will be held for immediate family only.
