CONTEST: Send us your best street theatre photos!

In this (second) summer of pandemic-influenced entertainment, crowds of thousands on the Plains are out, and innovative street performances are i n. Have you seen any interesting street theatre performances or impromptu outdoor concerts around the city? From now until Sept. 5, send us your best photos of street performers for a chance to see your photos in the paper and win a free QCT coffee mug! Photos should be emailed to editor@qctonline.com.

Further QCNA prizes announced

On July 15, the Quebec Community Newspapers Association (QCNA) announced the winners of its annual Better Newspapers Contest. A list of QCT winners was published in the July 21 edition. On July 20, after that edition had gone to press, the QCNA announced the winners of several additional awards. QCT staff members picked up three more prizes. Cassandra Kerwin received the Outstanding Photojournalism Award. Lorie Pierce and Luc Lang received the Correspondent Award along with Yvonne Lewis Langlois of The Gleaner (Huntingdon).
