Goaltender Glenn Hall, whose record 552 consecutive starts including the Stanley Cup playoffs will never be shattered, died Jan. 7 at the age of 94. Hall spent most of his career with the Chicago Blackhawks after winning NHL Rookie of the Year honours with the Detroit Red Wings in 1956. Hall joined Chicago in 1957, winning his only Stanley Cup four years later. In the 1967 NHL expansion draft, Hall was picked by the St. Louis Blues and guided the team to three straight league finals from 1968 to 1970. Affectionately called “Mr. Goalie,” Hall won another Stanley Cup in 1989 with the Calgary Flames as the team’s goaltending coach.
