The 15 graduates of A.S. Johnson High School in Thetford Mines celebrated graduation with a ceremony and reception at the school on June 21. A.S. Johnson, which shares a building with St. Patrick’s Elementary School, is the only public English high school on the South Shore and offers a range of programs combining academic and vocational training. Valedictorian Soriya Casals gave a concise and powerful speech at the 2024 graduation ceremony. She reminded her fellow graduates that no matter their route in life beyond CEGEP, St. Lawrence will always be home and a unifying factor in their lives.
