Due to weather conditions, the annual ecumenical and bilingual Good Friday Procession of the Cross took place at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity without the traditional walk between four churches in the Old City. At the end of service, Cardinal Gérald Cyprien Lacroix, Rev. Katherine Burgess, Bishop Bruce Myers and the Very Rev. Christian Schreiner gather around the cross. (Photo by Cassandra Kerwin)

TRIBUTE: IN MEMORY OF Denyse Cox

IN MEMORY OF Denyse Cox

My reservation is made

Denyse is waiting for me
Under a granite stone marker,
My reservation is made
At the Souvenance cemetery – a tranquil shade Where memories linger, soft and deep,
And the hush of eternity promises sleep.
My Denyse is waiting for me,
Beyond the veil, where we’ll soon be free.
I wait for the call, serene and calm,
For the pearly gate to open, offering balm, And let me through to skies anew,
Where sorrow fades and I’ll no longer feel blue. We’ll have so much to say in our gentle way, And time to pray for those we love,
Still toiling their way, watched from above. The 74 years of life together –
Blessed with laughter and weathered by weather – Remain in my heart, eternal and bright, Guiding me softly into the night.
My Denyse is waiting for me.

C.W. (Bill) Cox
