Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, announced Aug. 10 that he will not seek a re-election. Bach, a 1976 Olympic gold medalist in team fencing for Germany, has been at the helm of the IOC for the past 12 years and his second term will end in 2025. He officially closed the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Aug. 11. (LL)

The athletes will parade on the Seine River, in front of 660,000 spectators. The parade will end at the Eiffel Tower with ceremonies taking place across the river at the famous Jardins du Trocadéro. (Screenshot)
Boxer Tammara Thibeault, of Saint-Georges de Beauce, will try to better her fifth place earned at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Thibeault will box in the 75-kilogram class in Paris.
