This group of people organized a Ukrainian cinema evening held at the Pavillon Louis-Jacques-Casault at Université Laval on April 30. Movies featuring Oksana Artemenko, Dmytri Avdeev, Alexandre Obraz and Anastasia “Loolie” Mamontenko were on the program. All proceeds went to the Association Caritative Ukranienne Blagomay. Local residents continue to gather weekly to protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine and to support Ukrainian immigrants. On April 23, this group gathered on Dufferin Terrace in front of the American Consulate in the hopes of influencing the governments of the United States, Canada and other NATO countries to close the sky over Ukraine and to stop the war.
