It is with heavy hearts that the family would like to announce that Monique Hould Monaghan, wife of the late Robert Monaghan, passed away in Quebec City on May 14, 2025, at the age of 89 years young. She was the daughter of the late Blandine Vandal and Ovila Hould. She resided in Quebec City, the city which she had fallen in love with in her early years. Heaven has gained an angel.

A Catholic service will be held on May 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 1145 Ave. De Salaberry, Quebec City. The family will receive condolences at the church beginning at 10 a.m.

She is survived by her children, Karen, the late Frank (d. 2024) and Susan (Chris Smale); her granddaughters Emilie and Alexandra Smale; her sister Rolande and sister-in-law Leona; as well as her nephews, nieces and friends.

The family would like to thank the emergency room staff at Saint-Sacrement Hospital and send a special thank you to all the extraordinary staff and residents at Le Saint-Patrick, where she spent her last years.
