Trois-Rivières is hosting the annual World Junior A Challenge, an elite junior men’s hockey tournament which includes two teams from Canada (Canada East and Canada West), Sweden and the United States. The Canadian teams have players who play on national junior A teams (AAA Junior in Quebec). On Dec. 7, Canada East opened the tournament with a 4-1 victory over the United States, while Sweden bounced Canada West 6-2.
