The Quebec Diamants pose with the BFL Canada Cup after winning the in-season tournament of the Ligue de Baseball Junior Élite du Canada on July 3, against the Longueuil Ducs. Lionel Andrés “Leo” Messi, the legendary soccer/football player from Argentina, made his presence felt before a sellout crowd at Montreal’s Stade Saputo. Messi, 38, scored two spectacular goals, leading his Inter Miami team to an easy 4-1 victory over CF Montreal. Both times, he beat five Montreal defenders before putting the ball in the back of the net. After playing for FC Barcelona (Spain) and Paris Saint-Germain (France), Messi joined the “pink stripes” in Miami following the 2022 FIFA World Cup victory, where he captained his team to their third crown.
