Banks, then and now

When I was a young bank employee at the Imperial Bank of Canada in Montreal, I was always anxious to arrive at work in the imposing building at the bottom of Beaver Hall Hill. The clanking of the bells on early morning tramways and honking trucks and automobiles mixed with horse drawn carts created the scene as I arrived on the square in 1949.
