Sadie died peacefully surrounded by her family at the Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital on July 19, 2026. She is survived by her three sons Allan (Terry), Cliff (Karen), Wayne (Mandy), seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Elwy Hicks (2001) and her nine siblings: Mabel, Ida, Effie, Wilbert, Mildred, Connie, Bill, David and Norman.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at St. Andrew’s United Church, Valcartier, Quebec on Saturday, August 29, 2026 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.

A celebration of Sadie’s life will be held in Ottawa at a later date. Details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or the Roger Lamont Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
