“Thank you Premier, and Mr Mayor for your warm welcome. It’s an honour for me to be here with you in Quebec today. For me, as a soldier and an airman, it is a privilege to have inspected a great regiment like the Royal 22nd. Your reputation is as strong as it is legendary. This place has such beauty and history. You, Quebecois and Quebecoise, have such vitality and vigour.

Sixth Royal Visit Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught


The third son of Queen Victoria, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, was appointed Governor General of Canada. With his swearing-in ceremony held on October 13, 1911, in the salon rouge of the parliament buildings of Quebec, Arthur became the first, and so far only, Governor General of Canada to be of the Blood Royal.

The marriage of Queen Elizabeth II


Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born in London on April 21, 1926. Her Majesty was the first child of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. She was educated at home with her younger sister, the late Princess Margaret (21/09/30-09/02/02). The Queen speaks fluent French which she learned from French and Belgian governesses.

Royal Couple to treat La Maison Dauphine’s homeless youth like princes and princesses


On July 3, Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will debark from the HMCS Montreal in the Old Port and make their first stop La Maison Dauphine on a quaint winding street in the historic old city. The young Royal Couple chose to visit this haven for homeless youth aged 14 to 25.
