Barbara (Smith) Raiche (1926-2011)


Barbara (Smith) Raiche (1926-2011) passed away on April 26, 2011, at CHUL, at the age of 84. She was the wife of the late Jean-Paul Raiche. She lived in Quebec City.

Ms. Marielle Stewart appointed Director General of CQSB

The Council of Commissioners of the Central Québec School Board is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Marielle Stewart to the position of Director General of the Central Québec School Board. Ms. Stewart will assume her new responsibilities on July 1st, 2011.

An evening of insight, inspiration and entertainment at the Morrin Centre

Finding Balance: personally, relationally, and vocationally is the theme of the evening with Gregory Schroeder of IntegroWellness who asks, “If you could find your balance anywhere in life, where would it be? Balance within, in relationships and at work, is better when we strengthen our vision, character and skill.”

Is it well with your soul?

When I was in seminary, a group of us used to meet once a week, outside of class time, to pray together. Now, you have to realize that we had chapel twice a week at the seminary, plus once a week at McGill, and our regular Sunday worship at whatever church we chose to attend.

May, 2011, to January 29, 2012 - the Musée de la civilisation (rue Dalhousie, Québec) is hosting a bold new exhibit - ROME. QHS students visit the Rockies!

Quebec High School students recently spent one week taking in the Rockies, visiting Canada Olympic Park and bonding with host families as part of a SEVEC cultural youth exchange trip to Alberta. Twenty-four Secondary 2 and 3 students and three QHS organizers took part in the voyage.

A visit to the Henry-Stuart House

Few Quebec interiors testify to the art of living of an era. The Henry-Stuart House is an exception. This charming cottage located on Grande Allée West, at the corner of avenue Cartier, has retained its original appearance as witnessed by both its exterior and interior decor and the gardens around it.

Euphoria, Elation … and Political Reality

The recent federal election ushered in a host of new faces in the province of Quebec; 59 of the 75 ridings have new incumbents. Since this outcome was quite unexpected, there is a justifiable and understandable feeling of euphoria and elation amongst the winners, all of whom are from the NPD. Quite a feat! Congratulations to them all and good luck in their new lives and responsibilities.
