St. Patrick's eyes must have been smiling down on Saturday, March 24, as we were blessed with perfect weather conditions for the third annual St. Patrick's parade. The organizing committee of the Défilé de la St-Patrick are to be congratulated for the results of their tireless efforts in making this year's parade the great success it was.

Meet Juanita Craig, new contributor to the QCT

Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, I am the youngest of four children to working class parents (father is a plumber and drainlayer and mother is a Registered Nurse).

My first overseas trip was to Sydney and Brisbane, Australia, at the age of 14. I spent a year abroad in Saguenay, Lac St-Jean, with the AFS (American Field Service) program in 1996-1997.

A Quebec City woman has just climbed famous Mount Kilimanjaro and hopes you too will take the essential first step to achieving your goal.

"If you have a dream, go for it. Take it one step at a time. Remember that a walk of 1,000 miles starts with the first step," says Christiane Soulodre, who celebrated her 51st birthday on top of Africa's highest free-standing mountain.

St. Patrick’s team returns from Ireland victorious

The St. Patrick's High School Girls Senior Basketball team returned from Ireland victorious, winning three of their four basketball games. As well as meeting great basketball opponents, this tour of Ireland involved visiting Blarney Castle where many of the group kissed the Blarney Stone, which is no easy thing.

The Shea family enters St. Patrick’s Parade

When Brian Shea and members of his family attended the 2011 edition of the St. Patrick's Parade and saw the various groups represented, they decided they should enter the parade the following year, and they put together their plans right away.
