Acting Out! workshop explores body movement

The fourth of five Acting Out! workshops took place this past Saturday at the Morrin Centre. The activity brought together community members in a safe and open environment to learn about instinctive movement and expression of emotion through body language.

New faces on Quebec Art Company board

Elections were held during the Quebec Art Company (QAC) annual general meeting on March 14 to replace two of the five members of the 2017-2018 board of directors.

President Sharon MacLeod and vice-president Ladd Johnson were thanked for their many years of service and dedication to the company.

Hunting, fishing and camping in the great outdoors

The Salon Plein Air, Chasse, Pêche et Camping (outdoor, hunting, fishing and camping) and the Salon du Bateau (boat show) welcomed visitors at the Centre de Foires ExpoCité March 15-18. 

Salon Info-Canin’s founder celebrates his 100th dog show

The 100th Salon Info-Canin took place at the Centre commercial Fleur de Lys on March 17 and 18, and as always, this event drew large and enthusiastic crowds. The most beautiful purebred dogs were just waiting to be petted and maybe get a treat in return. Vendors were selling all kinds of fun clothes and toys to make dogs happy. There was even a section for cat lovers.

Celebrate CanLit during the ImagiNation Writers’ Festival

From April 3 to 8, the Morrin Centre will be hosting its ninth annual writers’ festival. Building on popular recurring activities, such as the Books and Wine event and the Books and Brunch activity, the festival will present a smorgasbord of celebrated authors, translators and artists during a week-long celebration of Canada’s rich diversity of history and culture.

Canadian Olympians are coming to the Big Air Jamboree

Quebec City will welcome elite local and international athletes, including 2018 Team Canada Olympic medalists Max Parrot, Laurie Blouin and Alex Beaulieu-Marchand, to the FIS Freestyle Big Air World Cup Finals.

Skiers and snowboarders raise $225,000 for Leucan

Leucan held a fundraising event at Stoneham Mountain Resort on St. Patrick’s Day. The annual 12-Hour Ski Challenge drew 635 skiers and snowboarders making up 171 teams and raising over $225,000. People of all ages enjoyed the warm weather, the bright sun, the music and the perfect ski conditions.

The 18th annual ecumenical and bilingual Good Friday Procession of the Cross will take place on March 30, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Chalmers-Wesley United Church, 78 Rue Sainte-Ursule in Old Quebec.
