Irish Heritage continues effort to move St. Pat’s plaque

Representatives of Irish Heritage Quebec are hoping several new resolutions being passed by local historical societies will provide the impetus for the removal a commemorative plaque from St. Patrick's High School.

"We're waiting for this to come up at the Comité de Commemoration," said IHQ's Joseph Lonergan this week.

St Andrew’s Congregation marks 200th anniversary of unique Scottish church

There are several churches in Quebec City's area which offer services in English, but St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church is the oldest one with Scottish origins. This weekend, members of the parish celebrated the 200th anniversary of their church building, which was dedicated in November, 1810, after the creation of the St. Andrew's Congregation by the Fraser Highlanders in 1759.

QHS graduates 57 seniors

Last Friday's Quebec High School graduation marked the end of the high school careers of 57 students. The ceremonies began with the students being piped in by Pipe Major Alan Stairs of the 78th Fraser Highlanders.
