Wagner’s Flying Dutchman docks at Quebec opera festival

One of the most complex and spectacular productions ever mounted at the Grand Théâtre, Richard Wagner’s Le Vaisseau fantôme (The Flying Dutchman in English, Der fliegende Holländer in German), is ready to take Quebec opera fans on a thrilling voyage “combining epic tales, supernatural worlds and remarkable scenic effects.”

NHL players to take part in the Pro-Am Gagné-Bergeron

With less than a month before the event, 20 current and former National Hockey League players have agreed to play in the 11th Pro-Am Gagné-Bergeron, named for Simon Gagné and Patrice Bergeron. The event will take place at the Videotron Centre on Aug. 8. at 7 p.m.

Three Quebec athletes to participate in the next Gaelic Games

Three athletes from Quebec will fly to Ireland at the end of July to take part in the next Gaelic Games in Waterford, Ireland. All three will participate in the Gaelic Football competition.

Yves Lambert will be on the Eastern Canada men’s team while Léa-Marie Caron will dress with the Eastern Canada women’s team. Florence Dallaire has a spot on the Eastern Canada B women’s team.

Wednesday, July 24 at 12:05 p.m. – Musical Wednesdays concert featuring renowned organist Jacques Boucher and violinist Anne Robert at Chalmers-Wesley United Church, tions welcome. Door prize draw at the end of each concert.

Celtic Festival planned for September 2019

The Quebec City Celtic Festival / Festival celtique de Québec (FCQ) has revealed the preliminary programming of its 14th edition. The festival will be held from Sept. 5 to 8, mainly at the enchanting Domaine de Maizerets. Certain activities will still take place in Old Quebec, specifically on Rue Saint-Jean.
