SLC Lion “Kings” roar to glory once more

On the second anniversary of their last provincial title, the CEGEP Champlain–St. Lawrence (SLC) Lions recaptured their throne in Ancienne-Lorette, where 1,200 anxious spectators witnessed the closing of the door on their neighbouring rivals from Cégep de Sainte-Foy.

The 13th annual Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) East-West Bowl will be played at McGill University on Saturday, May 14. The East-West Bowl showcases CIS players who will be eligible the following year for the Canadian Football League (CFL) draft.

The Canadian War Brides and Families are holding their annual reunion in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on May 20 -22 to commemorate 70 years since most of the War Brides arrived in Canada at Pier 21 in Halifax. Our hope is to have War Brides and family members attending from all provinces in Canada.

Mary Elizabeth Murphy (née Beal) was born November 7, 1921, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Grace Helena Barnes and James Roscoe Beal. She was the second-youngest of six children (James, Helen, George, Margaret and Albert). 

Mary, independent to the last, died suddenly at her home in Ottawa on April 7, 2016 at the age of 94.

Crépuscule returns to Agora this summer

From July 22 to September 4, Quebec City residents and tourists are invited to take a free seat at the Agora outdoor theatre in the Port de Québec to see the second edition of Crépuscule. Inspired by dusk, Flip FabriQue and Misteur Valaire will present a different perspective on nightfall under the theme Raviver les braises (rekindle the embers).
