Wednesday and Thursday September 5 th and 6 th it was open house for the students at Laval University. Toastmasters had a table at the Alphonse Desjardins Pavilion which hundreds of students visited. ( Let it be known that Toastmasters exist ! ) Friday September 7 th was the first meeting of the season for the Energetic Quest Club. Earlier in the week we had learned that we would have to move after November 2 nd. Saturday Sept 8th Bobby Fielding and I spent the day at the Quebec High School, Fall Fest. What an event ! Hundreds of people came by to eat candy, to say hi and to ask for information about Toastmasters in general. We even had the visit of the four main members of the District Executive Team. A day well spent ! As the day ended we packed up our stuff and hurried down to the Bistango restaurant at the Alt hotel in Ste-Foy. The reason for the event was to have supper together and share the dreams of the District concerning our Division ( Division I ). It was also a good time for us to share our concerns and hopes for our region. We all went back home satisfied with what we had heard. That same weekend was held the Salon de la santé et du bien-être at the Conference Center in Lévis. Toastmasters had a kiosk there. So after our meeting we went downstairs and checked that out.

The Salon had over a hundred tables and thousands of people – visiting.

It was a good way to sell our brand and make Toastmasters known. In the afternoon Mario St-Hilaire of the Lévis Club gave a presentation, Marie-Andrée Lessard gave an Icebreaker, Andreanne Charron gave her winning speech and even our Jean Racine was able to present his winning speech – La Saccoche. Boy, what an event ! This next week September 10 th Quality Speakers at Laval University kick off the season with their first meeting. The next day – Tuesday September 11 th, the new Downtown Techno Toastmasters Club will begin with their first meeting at The Hotel Pur. That will be a new English speaking club. It will be the fifth English Club in the region. That’s the news for now.
