The story behind Rue Fraser

The 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipes and Drums frequently appear in local events, such as the Celtic Festival and the St. Patrick's Parade.

Rue Fraser is a tree-lined, one-way street in the Montcalm district between Avenue De Salaberry and Avenue de Bougainville. It was named in honour of the 78th Fraser Highlanders Scottish regiment, which played a major part in the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759. The soldiers lined up for the battle near what is now the intersection of Avenue Cartier and Boulevard René-Lévesque.
