Major General Sir Eugéne Fiset was the 18th lieutenant-governor of Quebec, from 1939-1950.

This street is named in honour of Sir Marie-Joseph-Eugène Fiset, who was born in 1874 in Rimouski. He studied at the Rimouski Seminary and Université Laval, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and an M.D.
