The story behind Parc John-Munn

This sculpture by Luce Pelletier was installed in Parc John-Munn in the Saint-Roch area of Quebec in June 2014, at the east end of Rue du Prince-Edouard, a few blocks from the Rue Saint-Joseph shopping area (formerly the Saint-Roch mall). The sculpture recalls the Munn shipyard, which was located nearby, and illustrates the similarity of the bones of a fish to the skeleton of a ship. The title of the work, Le roi du fleuve (King of the River), was John Munn’s nick-name.
