Pomp aplenty at Quebec City’s birthday celebrations

It was a picture-perfect morning on July 3, and Quebec City was looking her best for her birthday, despite turning the ripe old age of 408. Although many unofficial celebrations were taking place around town, the official program started at 9:30 a.m. with a musical Mass at Notre Dame Basilica.
