New book sheds light or gives insight about many little known details of Quebec City history

Photographer Luc-Antoine Couturier and author David Mendel braved frigid temperatures, climbed ladders, and wore headlamps to take this never before seen photo of Quebec City's Upper Town from the roof of the Notre-Dame-de-Qu├ębec Basilica.

Few would notice that among the half dozen British 32-pounder cannons lining the Dufferin Terrace, two are Russian-made.

Two of the cannons bear the coat of arms of the Romanoffs, the Imperial family of Russia deposed during revolution in 1917, while the others bear the coat of arms of British King George III.
