Another Provincial Golf Title for the St. Lawrence Lions

The Lions Golf team defended their Provincial crown with success and that for the seventh time in the last nine years.

The St. Lawrence golf team totally dominated their rivals finishing in first place with a cumulative 4-tournament score of 1198, 112 shots better than their closest rival, Cegep Outaouais.

In the individual standings, the Lions also dominated the scoreboard, placing 4 golfers in the top-5.  Philippe Laforce won the gold medal with a combined 219, five strokes better than teammate Charles Côté.  Samuel Rochette and James Patrick Morin finished tied for fourth place with a score of 229.

Next competition for the St. Lawrence golfers will be the CCAA National Championships which will be held in Charlottetown, PEI from October 14 to 17.  The Lions are not only sending a men’s team to PEI, but their women, with Anne-Catherine Tanguay leading the way, will try to recapture the national title.
