Morrin Centre hosting writing contest: The New Anglo: Fact Meets Fiction

The Morrin Centre, a cultural centre and heritage site, in partnership with the Quebec Writer’s Federation, is pleased to invite all citizens of the Province of Quebec to take part in its writing contest.

The goal is to write an excerpt from an imaginary novel, in 500 words or less and set in Quebec City, which introduces a character that you think embodies today’s Quebec Anglophone. 

First prize is $500 from the Quebec Writer's Federation. A youth prize of $100 from the LHSQ & a free family membership is also available for those aged 18 and under.   

Contest deadline is July 31st 2008. Stories must be written in English. All entries should be sent to [email protected].

The LHSQ reserves the right to use excerpts from all submission in its interpretation programs or to reprint them in publications. Contest jury presided by Louisa Blair, author of The Anglos: The Hidden Face of Quebec City.
