Meet the QCT’s newest journalist: Mary McCown


Mary McCown

The Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph is delighted to welcome Mary McCown to our roster of freelance journalists.

Originally from Alabama, where she studied Theatre, Mary was very involved in theatre productions and was the associate director and instructor at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People before becoming the host of CBC’s lifestyle television program “Living Winnipeg.” She also worked at the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, and for many years proofread medical documents at the University of Manitoba. In 2012 she published her first book, Being a Good Ancestor. Since arriving in Quebec City with her husband and son in September 2016, she has been working at Les Ateliers de Conversation Anglaise (ACA) as an ESL instructor, writer and voice-over talent for a series of learning videos.
