Margaret Elizabeth Hicks CORNFORTH

In the early morning of Sept. 2, 2019, Margaret Elizabeth Hicks Cornforth, 78, of Loretteville, daughter of John Hicks and Ida Ross, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Bryce Lawrence Cornforth, also of Loretteville.
She leaves behind her daughter, Debbie Cornforth (Alain Daoust), son Greg Cornforth (Emily Barnum) and three grandchildren: Naiomi Daoust, Tatiana Daoust and Ava Cornforth. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Beverly (Bryce McBain), Marty Hicks (Carol Penny), Ross Hicks (Joanne McDonald), Bert Hicks (Eileen Kack) and the late Lois Hicks (Don McEwen); brothers- and sisters-in-law: the late June (Armand Audet), the late Denzil (the late Margaret Organ), the late Erle (Fernande Roy), the late Carole, Diane (Gaston Houde), Shirley (the late Jean Vaillancourt), Sylvia (the late Allan Copeman) as well as her very close nieces, nephews and friends.
Margaret was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She valued her family and friends, and was famously known for her cooking, honesty, dependability and entertaining. She enjoyed teaching and working for several years at the Central Québec School Board.
Visitation, handled by Falardeau Funeral Home, was held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 6. Funeral was held at Valcartier Anglican Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 7 with family receiving condolences 30 minutes prior to the service. Family invited friends and family to the Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier Community Centre following the funeral from 12:30 to 3 p.m. for fellowship, food and refreshments.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Dialysis and the Palliative Care Units at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital for their compassion, care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dialysis Unit at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Quebec City.
