Participants form a giant letter A to highlight the importance of straight allies in opposing homophobic bigotry, at an event held at Place d'Youville on May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. The day commemorates May 17, 1990, when homosexuality was officially removed from the World Health Organization list of mental disorders.

Jean-François Perrier joined hundreds of people at Place d'Youville on Sunday afternoon, wearing their brightest clothes to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. But Perrier isn't gay, bisexual or transgender.
