Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan at St. Andrew’s Church

Some 16 people had their tartans blessed during the Kirkin' o' the Tartan ceremony at St. Andrew's Church.

This past Sunday morning at St. Andrew's Church in Old Quebec, a colourful, traditional ceremony took place. The Kirkin' o' the Tartans worn by members of the congregation has been a tradition of the Presbyterian Church for hundreds of years. The kirk of course is the church, and anything or anyone who has been "kirked" has been blessed in the church.
