Jealous lovers duke it out at the MNBAQ

Harpist Valérie Milot (left) is at the centre of the intrigue between King Louis XVI (bassoonist Mathieu Lussier) and Marie Antoinette (coloratura soprano Marianne Lambert) in this comic recital about jealous lovers and false appearances.

Saturday afternoon, Aug. 3, and the Sandra and Alain Bouchard auditorium of the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec is sold out. The audience are there to see a humorous recital of L’Amant jaloux ou Les fausses apparences, which was composed by André-Ernest-Modeste Grétry (1741-1813) and features excerpts of works by Mozart, Méhul and Devienne, among others.
