Historian Dr. Gavin Foster spoke about the 1916 Easter Rising at a recent Irish Heritage Quebec meeting. Here he shows an image of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic which was read outside Dublin’s General Post Office 100 years ago.

This past Easter Monday, Ireland celebrated the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising. To mark this historic event, Irish Heritage Quebec invited historian Gavin Foster to give a talk on the Easter Rising's historical significance. Dr. Foster is an associate professor of Modern Irish History in the School of Irish Studies at Concordia University.
