Come celebrate Tartan Day on April 6

Photo: Photo by National Assembly photographer

The official photo taken on April 6, 2004, at the National Assembly where we celebrated our first official Tartan Day 10 years ago. The MNAs present on the photo are Lucie Papineau (former MNA for Prévost), wearing the Quebec Tartan, Geoffrey Kelley (MNA for Jacques Cartier), and François Beaulne, former MNA for Marguerite-d'Youville.

April 6 is Tartan Day in Canada, a day when Scots or those of Scottish descent celebrate their heritage in a variety of ways.

In Quebec City the day marks the 10th anniversary of our first celebration after a bill was unanimously passed in the Quebec National Assembly in December 2003. See below for details regarding the origin of Tartan Day in Canada.
