Going, going . . . soon to be gone and replaced by a modern building.

With its steeple now removed, demolition work proceeded in earnest last week on Église Saint-François-d’Assise, on 1re Ave. in Limoilou.

The church has not been used by the congregation since 2012. It is expected it will take about two weeks to level the stone structure, a landmark in the neighbourhood since it opened in 1927.
