Most of us recognize the opening lines to “Auld Lang Syne” but how many know that the song was composed in 1788 by Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns? “Robbie” or “Rabbie” Burns was also known as the Bard of Ayrshire and the Ploughman Poet.
