Alan Stairs is usually seen dressed in his 78th Fraser Highland uniform with his bagpipes slung under one arm while he plays an assortment of marches, slow marches, jigs and Strathspeys. 

Happy 50th anniversary! Congratulations to Jim and Margaret Oman

Congratulations to Margaret and Jim Oman who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a garden party at their home with family and friends. It was a perfect day with beautiful weather filled with lots of good memories. Margaret and Jim were married at Trinity Church in Sainte-Foy on August 21,1965.  We wish them many more happy years together.

Violet Jessie (Rourke) CLARK, 94, died peacefully at her home in Vancouver on September 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 14, 1921, in Quebec City, Violet was the daughter of the late Edward and Effie (Neil) Rourke.

Fighting Irish battle for football glory on the Plains

The smell of hot dogs was already wafting through the air on Sunday morning as the St. Patrick’s High School Fighting Irish junior football team prepared to take on École Sécondaire Mont-Saint-Sacrement as part of the traditional Fighting Irish fall tailgate. The seniors played later that afternoon against the Diables from École Sécondaire de Donnacona.
