Tea and scones à la mode

Comfort food and comfortable footwear were on display in Quebec City’s chic boutique hotel, Auberge Saint-Antoine, last Saturday. For the second season, the hotel is offering Thé à La Mode, monthly gatherings in the hotel’s hip Café-Bar Artéfact combining a gourmet English afternoon tea with haute couture. 

New investment for Charlevoix tourist train

Several local media outlets sent their journalists and camera crews out to the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency last Wednesday morning for a press conference at which Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume was to announce a new investment for the Charlevoix light rail transit (LRT) tourist train. 

Quatuor Arthur-Leblanc enchants Cathedral audience

The renowned Quatuor Arthur-Leblanc, named after the famous Acadian violinist, gave a delightful concert at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity last Saturday evening. The excellent acoustics of the Cathedral certainly enhanced the experience.

Betty’s Quilters display their exquisite quilts

Betty’s Quilters held their annual exhibit at the Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier Community Centre last Sunday. Exquisite handmade quilts, large and small, were hanging on walls and frames and spread on tables in the main hall.

Aline Kutan, the coloratura soprano who played the role of the Queen of the Night during the recent performances of The Magic Flute, with the Opéra de Québec at the Grand Théâtre, recently paid a special visit to students in the the Music Enrichment program at Quebec High School.
