A fabulous visit to Quebec City

Jeffery Hale, philanthropist, and General Elias Walker Durnford, builder of the Quebec Citadelle, are two names intimately entwined with Quebec City’s history. The institutions and buildings they created in the 19th century remain part of the life of the city today. By a quirk of fate, both men ended their days in the town of Tunbridge Wells.

Every year since 2008, the Regroupement des Étudiants en Photonique et Optique de (l’Université) Laval (REPOL) has invited senior high school students to discover the world of optics and photonics.

Science meets skiing at Boreal Glide

Last Friday was the kick-off of the cross-country ski season in eastern North America, as Forêt Montmorency opened its Boreal Glide trail to the public. The Boreal Glide, a tradition for three years now, is a two-kilometre-long, eight-metre-wide swath of snow ideal for cross-country skiing. 

Teachers at CQSB schools on rotating strikes

Teachers of the Central Québec School Board (CQSB) in the Quebec City area went on strike on Tuesday, October 27, with groups picketing in front of Quebec High School on Avenue Belvédère and St. Vincent Elementary School on Avenue Wolfe from 8 to 9:30 a.m. 

Patricia-Anne GAUTHIER 1944-2015

Patricia-Anne Gauthier, age 71, passed away on October 11, 2015, at CHSLD Jardins du Haut Saint-Laurent. She was the adopted daughter of the late Léonne and William Moylan. She lived in Quebec City.
